Menariknya, komentar Hugh Jackman ini muncul setelah beberapa bulan yang lalu dia sempat mengatakan kalau dirinya tidak yakin akan bermain lagi di sekuel The Wolverine, yang mana film tersebut saat ini tengah dikembangkan oleh sutradara James Mangold. Belum ada penulis naskah yang terikat dengan proyek ini, namun Jackman mengatakan kalau dia mau untuk kembali bermain jika alur ceritanya sesuai dengan ekspektasinya.
"Because I love him, I want to work with him! I don't know! I'm hoping that day won't come, we keep talking about other stories to spin, and of course he wants to do other movies and theater and he wants to take time to be a dad. So far, I think it's not on the horizon, but I'm sure it will be one day."
Setelah X-Men: Days of Future Past tayang dilayar lebar pada 23 Mei nanti, 20th Century Fox akan melanjutkannya dengan X-Men: Apocalypse yang dijadwalkan akan tayang pada 27 Mei 2016 mendatang. Tapi sampai saat ini, masih belum diketahui siapa saja yang akan bermain dalam film tersebut dan apakah Hugh Jackman akan kembali sebagai Wolverine disana.
